Auto-tagging
Auto-tagging is the automated application of labels, categories, or metadata to customer support tickets, conversations, and interactions without requiring manual classification by agents. Powered by natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning, auto-tagging systems read the content of each interaction and assign relevant tags — such as issue type, product area, customer sentiment, or resolution outcome — in real time or post-interaction.
Manual tagging is one of the most time-consuming and inconsistent elements of support operations. Agents apply tags differently, inconsistently, or not at all — especially under high volume.
